I discovered Minecraft about a month ago. While wandering around gaming sites and forums to see what’s new in PC gaming since I was so behind for many years, I heard about it. Apparently, it’s got quite a buzz right now. I played around with the free version for awhile to check out what it was all about. I bought it last week. For those who don’t know about Minecraft, check out http://www.minecraft.net.

I had meant to publish this post last week after I bought it, but I have been too busy playing it. I like games that give you freedom to do almost anything in open environments. I am eagerly waiting for the full release to come out and play it. Perhaps if there is enough interest in my circle of friends, I might setup a Minecraft server.

I find it humorous. I waited so long for a new computer and paid a good sum of money for it, but now that I have it, the games I find myself playing the most these days are Guild Wars, which came out 6 years ago and I’ve been actively playing for almost 3 years now, and Minecraft, a simple game with simple graphics written by an indie developer. In the end, it’s all about enjoyment, not fancy graphics and realistic physics engines.
